Becoming a Member

Membership at the UPA is a very individual decision. Members participate in the spiritual, educational and social activities of the church.  For some, membership takes the form of participation in Worship services and the many events held throughout the year. For others it means singing in the choir, serving on a committee or leading one of the church Boards.  Members are active in their faith and the life of UPA.

If you are struggling with your faith and what you believe, it is okay to join.  You will be among good company.  By deciding to become a member, you are expressing your commitment to a faith journey and the UPA community.

We receive persons into membership at a regular service several times a year.  Some unite on Confession of Faith, others on Reaffirmation of Faith, or by Letter of Transfer from another church.  An Inquirers Class is held twice a year.  It is an opportunity for anyone who wants to ask questions about our faith or church life together.  Those who wish to join the church following these sessions may do so.
