Director of Christian Education Ministries
We are a lively, progressive, federated congregation (UCC and UMC) with a growing church school.  The primary responsibilities for this position include the administration of the Church School program, working with Middle School and High School Youth, encouragement and facilitation of family ministries, and assisting the pastor with confirmation.  Participation in worship is expected with a weekly children’s message.  A complete job description is available here
 
This is a half-time (20-25 hours a week position) for 10 months a year (Sept-June) plus two weeks in the summer to run a week-long Vacation Bible School. The hourly salary will be $20-27.00, depending on experience. The UPA is an open and affirming congregation, and an equal opportunity employer.

Church Administrator
We are seeking a part-time administrator to manage the day-to-day needs of the parish.  Duties include preparation of the weekly church newsletter and Sunday worship bulletin; some financial chores, with spreadsheet experience required; maintenance of the church’s web site (www.upanewtonma.org); and routine office work, including telephone and e-mail communications, in support of the minister and the church.  In addition, working with the Property Board, the administrator manages requests for building use, and scheduling of routine maintenance.
 
The administrator often works alone, and often comes in contact with church members’ confidential information.  Common sense, tact, initiative and a sense of humor are desirable qualities for this position.  A complete job description is available here.
 
This job is a 30 hour per week (6 hours a day) position from September through June, and 15 hours per week during the summer months. The hourly salary will be in the $12-$15 range, depending on experience. The UPA is an open and affirming congregation, and an equal opportunity employer.
